After hearing the Tracks HD for the first time I knew I have to get a pair. Being a huge headphone fanatic I had more than my share of cans to compare them to but after looking at the specs and price I decided to place them against the Beats Solo HD's and the Fanny Wang 1001 HD's.The Tracks, being the lowest priced of the three performed like the worthy competitor they are. I put each piece through a verity of tracks from Hip Hop to Rock but one track set them apart. I played an instrumental heavy in bass and the Sol Republic Tracks blew me and the other cans away! They handled every note without clipping and distortion, something that I can't say for the others. That seemed crazy considering they are "HD" and tuned for clarity more than bass.Next, I was very impressed with their looks. Not only do they sound great but look the part too. It's amazing that with such a simple design they can be so stunning to look at. Sure the Beats and Wangs have the head start with color options but according to Sol they are introducing "separates", head bands and cords of different colors and designs. And the fact that you can take off the ear pieces from the bands and customize them without having to buy a new set of cans is ingenious. And one more feature, how about the "indestructible" band? Look at the picture below.Sol Republic could be the "next BIG thing" in head phones. They are already shaking things up in the market and I expect more in the near future. TDK has been around for a while doing cassette tapes and other blank media. I remember recording that song I was waiting hours to hear on my favorite radio station on a SA90 TDK tape when I was a kid (a long time ago). I could have used any other brand out there but nothing sounds of feels like a TDK. When you took the cassette out of its case you could feel the quality of the product. And when you listened to what ever you recorded it preformed and produced a clear reproduction, better than any other tape out there. This is what I expect from TDK today.
From speaker systems to flash drives they are making quality products that live up to that same high standard that we the consumer expect from them. Other companies have entered the market with high end product like Monster, Fanny Wang, Sony, Phillips etc. Speakers, media and cables are some of the product they are offering but one category has emerged and is HOT among consumers of all ages, head phones. Well now TDK is ready to play…
Introducing the ST-800 High Fi Headphones.

Introducing Fanny Wang
Fanny Wang Headphone Co. takes the trend started by 'Beats by Dr Dre' to the next level in terms of fashion, sound, and price. I was blown away by the sound quality! They had forceful bass like the Beats and other high end headphones without sacrificing clarity. The same sound engineer in china (TC) who designed many of those ultra high-end headphone acoustics tackled the Fanny Wang challenge to create a superior sound that compliment urban hip hop while offering enough range to satisfy the diversity of modern consumers.
They come in three style, 1001 (on the ear), 2001 (over the ear DJ style) and the soon to come 3001 (DJ also with noise canceling).
Pricing is right inline with the other competitors; 1001 SRP $169.95 (colors red, white and black), 2001 $249.95 (tuxedo black and white, stiletto red and black, chrome angel white and chrome and red velvet white and red) and 3001 coming soon.
After listening to the 1001, also the Beats Solo HD and Vmoda Crossfade LP's I became an instant fan. I played the beginning of a song where there was an accoustic guitar joined by bass then a bell tone. When the bass hit it seemed to over power the accoustic guitar and then the bell tone distorted also with the Solo's and Crossfade's. But when I played the same song with the 1001's it was like they had a built in tweeter in each speaker and they were crossed over, giving them a componant speaker (a speaker system with a dedicated woofer for low end sounds and tweeter for the highs) sound. It was like I was there in the room while they were recording the song! Talk about High Definition Audio!
Here are the specs for the 1001 (shown in the photo above)

Pick your Fanny's up today and become a fan like I did.
Head phones are for the most part very similar when you listen to the entry level buds. That includes the ones you get with most of your higher end music/media players. But if you are looking for something with rich sound, durable and stylish you can expect to pay a premium most of the time... until now. Introducing MEelectronics, a maker of headphones with premium sound at entry level cost.
I have recently purchased two of their entries in the market, the M6 and SP51. Both are great sounding headphones with different wearing styles and features.
First let’s talk about the M6. I run a lot and am always looking for the perfect pair of headphones that combine clear sound and the ability to stay in my ears without issues. The M6 accomplishes this perfectly. They offer a custom fit with multiple ear inserts and a bendable ear loop to adjust to any ear size or shape. These things really stay in during the most extreme workouts letting you focus solely on the road, weights and/or treadmill and not on keeping them from falling out.
Next are the SP51. I have dj Style headphones for that late night mix session, traveling or just enjoying your favorite tunes and flicks, but I always wanted a pair of buds that gave me that BOOM you get from the over the ear headphone. Well the SP51 are the answer. With their metal housing and interchangeable ports, they are suitable for all sorts of listeners. You can choose between 3 levels of sound by simply changing between the included sets of screw on ports. Both models also have a model that includes an inline mic for phone calls (M9P and SP51P).
So if you want to upgrade those stock buds for some premium sound go to your local retailer and ask for MEE.
Let’s talk ear buds; I know there are many out there. If you want to replace those boring, uncomfortable OEM buds that came with your phone or MP3 player there’s a lot to choose from. I have personally purchased my share in my digital lifetime but there was one brand that I always wanted to get my hands on, Ultimate Ears. For years they were high priced, typical for high end audiophile headphones like the Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 (SRP 399.99). But my dream came true with the arrival of the MetroFi 220vi. With a SRP of $99.99 this was beautiful music to my ears. But would they holdup to the reputation Ultimate Ears set with their higher priced sets? To test them I put them up against two other middle class ear buds, the Kicker EB141 ($79.99) and the V Moda Vibe II ($129).
Sound quality was great. They have 16db noise isolation technology that cuts down on the outside sounds that take away from the experience with stock headphones, helping you focus on the music, not what is going on around you. They come with different silicone ear cushions for a more custom fit and a hard case, not the cool leather case the V Moda’s came with but hey, I’m not spending $129. The sound was as good as the Vibe II but much better than the Kickers.
They have an inline microphone for phone calls. You can switch between making calls and enjoying music and video on your smart phone or MP3 player. The titanium-coated speakers let you enjoy a crisp sound and fuller mix with more detail in the higher ranges so you can hear deep bass and clear treble. The compact, sleek design with metallic finish and low profile help them sit flush and securely in your ears. And they are color coded, red for right and black for left to help you know which bud goes where.
With crisp sound and a customized, comfortable fit, these sleek earphones let you indulge in more me-time. To find out more about these get a pair and hear for your self. They are a great buy for the price and live up to the Ultimate Ears legacy.
Try this with your Bluetooth, today on the ride in to work I received a call. While talking to the person I stopped in the middle of our conversation and asked if they could hear me. They said, “Loud and clear.” This might sound normal to you but I was on the highway doing 65 MPH with my music on, the windows and sunroof fully open! Never have I owned a headset that worked like this, amazing! If you don’t believe me try it for yourself. Sitting closely and lightly behind your ear, the Jabra WAVE Bluetooth™ headset prevents wind and background noise from interfering with your conversations. And with its carefully placed mic and DSP technology, the sound quality is always crystal clear. When you wear the Jabra WAVE, you hear every word.
The Jabra WAVE is slim and exceptionally comfortable. A new more advanced version of the classic behind-the-ear style, it can be worn with ease all day long. If at any point the connection with your mobile is interrupted, the headset will simply tell you so via a voice-alert. It will also inform you if it is soon time to recharge. The Jabra WAVE makes sure you never miss an opportunity. Wear it to work, on the move or in the car.
Jabra's award-winning headset range features cordless and corded models for every kind of mobile lifestyle. Jabra products have become some of the most popular in the industry including the world’s best selling Bluetooth headsets, the Jabra BT200, the Jabra BT250 and the Jabra BT250v. Jabra products have consistently received numerous product and design awards including the CES Innovation, iF product design, Red Dot Mobile Choice Best Accessory, T3 Gold, and CNET Editor’s Choice. SRP $79.99, a great deal if you ask me.
If you are like me, you’ve seen your fair share of iPad cases. But the Macally BOOKSTANDPRO2 is not your typical case. Like others it has slots for business cards, a pen/stylus holder and closes to protect your $500+ investment but this piece takes it to a different level. This is my second iPad and just like when I bought the first I loaded up on accessories. But I loved this thing at first sight and knew I had to have it. One of the things I liked was the paper pad section. This was a nice touch for writing notes from websites, also transferring written notes to your iPad. This will help keep all your notes (written and digital) all in one place. I also noticed that the card holder is removable and Macally placed soft tabs that cover the buttons to keep them from touching your pad when removed. Second, I love their placement of the pen/stylus holder. By putting it in the fold between the tablet and card holder section you can fold it and keep the pen from scratching your beautiful 9.7 inch iPad display.
The third thing is important for all iPad cases; it props up your iPad for viewing purposes. But Macally does it right, they incorporated a folding front cover with a Velcro fastener. When folded in a “V”,with the Velcro strap applied will form a sturdy stand for your viewing pleasure. The only thing I didn’t like was that the tilt wasn’t adjustable but I can live with that. They did make up for that by giving it a rotating feature so you can view in wide or standard angles, awesome! There is a camera hole but unless the front cover is folded it’s useless.
Last year I said to a friend, “I wish someone would make a nice case for the iPad with a paper pad holder," and now my wish came true. Great job Macally! The BOOKSTANDPRO2 is available now at Macally.com or from your Macally distributer. Look for them on retail shelves in May 2011. SRP $49.99

The MSI Wind Top
Laptops and net books are all the rage on college campuses these days and tablets are on the rise. But what if you already have one or all of these? I am one of these people. Portability is nice but I still love the 20 plus inch screen of a desktop. Plus, they are still spec for dollar a better deal than laptops. But I would love to have one that doesn’t take up my entire computer desk and still give me the power of a tower system.
I was given the opportunity to play around with the MSI Wind Top (AE2050008US) and loved it! Wind Top AE2050 offers the touch screen function along with an easy and friendly user interface, MSI Wind Touch; you can simply touch the screen to access all PC functions. Wind Top AE2050 also considers user's needs by four sorting categories: Work, Fun, Tool, and Web. You can browse all of the options through your finger tips across the screen and start programs by touching the graphic icons. The next-generation PC control won't get any easier than this. It has a 20” touch screen WSXGA (Wide Super XGA, a wide screen resolution of 1600x900pixels) display, 4 GB of RAM, 1 TB hard drive, a DVD writer, AMD Radeon HD 6310 Discrete-Class Graphics with 128 MB of dedicated memory, WiFi, 1.3 Megapixel web cam and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. All of this at an ESP of $764.99.
Not a bad price if you ask me. Get yours today and see why I think the Wind is a breath of fresh air!
Let's face it, over 27 million iPhones were purchased last year and 500,000 plus iPads were sold on day 1. These numbers are staggering compared to their competition but for good reason. These are great devices that do awesome things, but they do have their faults. Let's look first at the iPad, doesn't play flash, no USB, SD or Kensington Lock slots and the screen is too shinny to read an ebook outside on a nice sunny day. The iPhone has a camera , no need for a lock slot but it has some of the same faults as the iPad. The most glaring problem for both devices is their lack of memory expansion. The iPhones max memory is 32 GB, awesome but let's you own a 16 GB iPhone 4 and want to upgrade the memory, you can for $299 (a new phone). The iPad maxes out at 64 GB, which is awesome for a phone but not great for today's netbook/tablets. Your typical Acer or HP netbooks starts with a 160 GB hard drive. That's too bad because both of these devices (iPhone and iPad) are great multimedia platforms. Let's face it; more people are watching video today on the tiny 3.5-inch (diagonal) wide screen Multi-Touch display of the iPhone than on any portable DVD player out there. We all know that video can consume a lot of memory space and for a "video hog" like myself, video is what the iPhone media player does best and it takes all my space leaving nothing for music or apps. Wouldn't it be awesome if you could add more memory (unlimited) to your device without having to buy another one? Now you can... Pogoplug!
Pogoplug is much more than a standalone electronic device. Simply connect Pogoplug to an external hard drive on your desktop computer, then easily set up Pogoplug with a password and login you create. Then you add email addresses of friends, family and business associates so they can have access (you control who sees what). Now you are free to remotely access and share your files (pictures, slideshows, movies and music) through any web browser or mobile device (iPhone, iPad, Droid or Blackberry, notebook, netbook...etc). The easy to use service (no fees or service contracts whatsoever) called my.pogoplug.com simply allows you to share, stream, upload or download to and from your Pogoplug connected hard drives from anywhere in the world - no technical expertise or advanced networking knowledge required. Pogoplug is compatible with Mac, Windows and Linux.
I think this product definitely has great potential. It is something almost everyone can benefit from. For the basic consumer, they can drop all their pictures and music on an external hard drive and share them with friends and family. For example, if you set one up and add me to your Pogoplug "cloud", I can stream your music directly to my iPhone. So instead of 1 or 2 GB of music I now have access to thousands of songs at a touch. I can even stream your movies from my Xbox 360 or PS3. Awesome if you ask me!
